Winter Storm: What to Keep in Your Car
Emergency supplies to have in your car in case of a winter storm:
- Cell phone with portable charger
- Warm clothes (hats, mittens, gloves, coats, blankets)
- Windshield scarper and shovel
- Battery powered or hand crank radio and flashlight with extra batteries
- Water and snacks
- A first aid kit with any necessary medications
- Pocket knife or multitool
- Tow chains, rope, tire chains
- Air for tire repairs (compressed air can)
- Cat litter or sand (for tire traction)
- Booster or jumper cables
- Hazard reflectors, bright coloured flags
- Road maps
- A biohazard bag that can be used as an emergency toilet
- Tissues, toilet paper, and paper towels
- Candles and matches for light and heat
