How much clean water do i need during an emergency evacuation?

The simple answer here is planning. You need at least a 3-day supply of water for your family during an emergency (7 days if you’re feeling even more prepared!), and it’s easier to calculate this than you might think.

Here’s the easiest way to calculate the amount of  water you need for an emergency:

  • Write down the name of ONE of your household members

  • Write down the usual amount of water they consume in a day

  • Then write down how many SERVINGS of each item above they usually have

ALL WRITTEN?

Multiply that by the “supply day” (x3 / x7 / x 14)

THEN…

Repeat that list process for the next household member

And then the next household member…

And then the next…

And do the exact same for every pet

Once you've made a list for each human and pet, that will give you an estimate of how many servings of water you need to stock for each member of your household.
